"Downeast in the Ocean" cover!

Hello! I haven't had a moment to post anything lately, as I've been super busy wrapping up my first book, My Maine, and working on the cover illustration of my next book, Downeast in the Ocean! It's been a crazy month or two to say the least, but all in the best possible way, so I really can't complain.

Here is the cover for Downeast in the Ocean, a counting book that will be out early next year!

Flowers for Susie

This was a Christmas gift, a watercolor painting for my boyfriend's mother, Susie. Woven into her name are her favorite flowers, including a field of Lupines below. This photo isn't 100% for color, but pretty close. Definitely one of my favorite custom name/initial paintings so far. It was a hit!

Keep these in mind for commissioned gifts! ; )

2010...!?!

When did this happen? Holidays are over, it's a new year! Haven't posted in a while, you know how things go this time of year. Hope to post more often in the next couple of months. Finishing up a project for the Wells Reserve, so I'll have lots of new illustrations to share from those booklets...like this one:

Speaking of shows...

The current MEIC show on display during the month of November is The Classics Reimagined Art Show, in which members of the Maine Illustrators Collective created illustrations based on classic stories, novels, and tales. The show is on display at the Freeport Public Library. More pics and info at mecollective.blogspot.com/.

Unfortunately, I didn't end up having the time to produce a new piece specifically for this occasion, but I did put up a painting from a couple of years ago, based on The Princess and the Pea!

Blue Sally

This Blue Spotted Salamander was a commissioned piece, used as an appreciation gift by the White Pine Programs in York, Maine. The client was very pleased with the result, and so was I! It was presented to the recipient at a banquet, where it received a wonderful response. Always great to hear.

Mini Paintings

To keep myself busy during my down time between freelance jobs, I've been doing some mini artwork. I plan on framing them and hopefully selling them. So if you see something you like, let me know!

These are all watercolor on cold press watercolor paper, sizes vary but most are about 2" x 3"
