Prints, sneak peek

Been busy making more prints to sell at upcoming events and book signings! The new ones from Down East in the Ocean will be posted in the "shop" on my website soon, some of these from My Maine are already in there now! They're printed on watercolor paper, mounted on 5" x 5" and 5" x 7" wood blocks, signed and ready to hang! And totally affordable at only $20! What a steal, huh?

Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing prints, or click here (not all are available on the site yet, contact me to order).

Everyone loves a flea market...I know I do!

I'll have a table at this flea market and outdoor event this coming Sunday, Oct. 2, in Kittery. It's right on Rt.1, just a mile up the road from the Kittery Trading Post and outlet shops. I hope we get lots of shoppers and leaf peepers --and no rain! (rain date of Sun, Oct. 23)

I'll be there selling and signing both books, My Maine and Down East in the Ocean, as well as prints from the books. I'll also have some free coloring pages for kids, too!

What an great way to welcome fall!
I hope I'll see you there!

"Fabulous-Friends-(First)-Friday!"

Soo I decided that since I've rejoined the working world part time (got to pay those pesky bills) as well as a new big project and several smaller ones, 'my fabulous friends' will have to be a monthly treat instead of a weekly deal, for the sake of time..or lack there of. So watch for these uuber talented folks on the first Friday of each month and show them some love by checking out their websites!

Hello September! When did that happen?? Summer came and went so fast this year, but it sure was a good one, filled with lots of visits with friends and family from near and far, soaking up the Maine summer sun. We had one particularly awesome evening consisting of yummy flatbread pizza, summer ales, and lots of laughs, with a fabulous friend this summer--

He's an incredibly talented photographer, who's currently based in Hartford, CT. His work ranges from people and places, to architectural photography (see http://www.robertbensonphoto.com/ where he is a photographer's assistant).  Tony is a fellow 2007 UHA graduate, and everyone who knows him knows what a dedicated and creative soul he is. Some of us were even fortunate enough to be subjects of his work!

This print hangs proudly in my studio and probably definitely always will!

This gem below isn't in his official portfolio, I'm sure, but it certainly is one of the best polaroids ever taken (and he has taken a LOT of polaroids!):

New Children's Book!

Super excited to announce a new big project in the works! After Down East in the Ocean was complete, DownEast Enterprises asked me to illustrate another children's book! No official title yet, but I do know that the book will be released in early Summer 2012. The story will be about how a piece of sea glass is made.  This will be a picture book, no manuscript, so the whole story will be told through my illustrations--no pressure there, right!? But I'm really excited for the challenge and I think it's going to be a great concept and beautiful style. Stay tuned for more details and sketches as I begin the book process!

Wohooo to book #3!
Wish me luck, only have 5 months to do it!
